Have you ever looked up at a cloud and seen the shape of an animal?

Ever look up and see hundreds of animals at a time?

I am a multimedia artist, using latex and acrylic paint to create intricate images of animals, parading in a web of corners and crisp lines.  The paintings explore the dynamic nature of curves and spaces as they converge to create a lattice of inter-twining shapes and colors.

I try to document the moment of art as it is being made, and I later present edited video segments online using social media.  There is something special that occurs during the making of art which is lost once the piece is completed.  While painting, I have a sense of optimism and motion.  When the painting is complete, it becomes a relic of those moments for me.

MOMENT of art

I am interested in the way that things fit together.  My work employs gesture strokes to guide the eye across a universe of birds, fish, dogs, cats, elephants, seahorses…  as they meet in precise congestion.  I want to create the visual sense that although the paintings have edges, a swirling expanse of all connected things continues infinitely.

RELIC of art

To me, the paintings represent the culmination of the thoughts and ideas I had while creating them.  Further interpretations are left to the viewer.

I am happy to be an artist.

AVDJ is my art style.
